goodbye spring break - hello weekend!

Well folks, our Spring Break is coming to an end. It's been a terrific (and tiring) week for us. Terrific in that I was able to take some time off from work and tiring because my incredibly patient and wonderful husband took care of his mother this week (along with some of his siblings). You see.. my feisty, sharp and amazing mother in law is now suffering from alzheimer's. It's a terrible disease that takes away a person's sense of security and confidence and renders them lost in time. She's not terribly gone but there is no way she can stay by herself at home alone. This was the main reason I asked for the week off. Someone had to take care of the little taco while the mister took care of his mom.

We had a terrific 4 day run of skiing! I am not a great skier nor do I ever even remotely suggest that I am one. But after 4 days, I must admit, I enjoyed it and was sorry to see the warm weather and rain set in. Keira has impressed us immensely with her skiing skills! She's had so much fun with her cousins on the slopes, a sleepover with them too and even showing me the how-to's on our mom & daughter ski day together.
