halloween 2009

This year, we were invited to go trick or treatin with family. Yay! Cuz last year was such a dud. It was only me and the Keikster and the Keikster was b o r e d after 5 homes. This year, she was excited to go out with her cousins and since my sister and her neighbors all know each other (think Desperate Housewives or Leave it to Beaver), I knew Keira would have fun with all the neighborhood kids.

Jap-chae, rice and meatballs in pineapple sauce. Oh yes!

I was just grateful we didn't have to do much. After a morning & afternoon of sanding the basement walls & ceiling, cleaning up... we were exhausted.

I packed up 2 costumes for Keira. In case. She was either going to be Thumbelina again or Sleeping Beauty. Wouldn't you know it? Adam and Caleb were pirates! So fitting, 2 Jack Sparrows and Keira (I kind of did name her after Keira Knightly. Well, saw her pic in a magazine and thought it was a nice name).

The evening started off warm but got cold in a hurry! All that wind. And a full moon to boot! 1 street was all it took, their halloween bags were heavy and full! The only thing we did afterwards was check the loot (is it just me or is the loot amazing each year??). I just take out all the taffy-style candies and bubblegum. Keira has not taken a sip of soda nor chewed bubblegum so far in her life, and I am pretty proud of that. I call soda "medicine" and I tell her bubblegum is "spicy". She did try soda once but sucked it up too fast and the fizz just about knocked her out. lol. She hasn't touched it since.

Lucky for us we also slept over at my sister's place. Didn't have to worry about hurrying back home. Ah...
Did your kids wake up sugar-rushed too?

It was the perfect Halloween night, wasn't it?!? It was dark, windy, and the moon was SCARY! We noticed it too. I also tried to take a picture, but it didn't turn out. Anyway, looks like such a fun Halloween with your gang!

p.s. funny coincidence, we also ate japchae yesterday!

I hope so. If not, at least really close cuz they're her brothers that she will never have. lol. My mom made the japchae! Chris made the amazing meatballs with pineapple sauce. They had amazing fun and always love having sleepovers.
