The Backyardigans show @ Théâtre St Denis

Well the big day finally arrived! and by noon we were all on the 132 heading towards Jacques Cartier bridge. Took us 15 minutes to get downtown. Amazing but not surprising.

You could tell there was some kiddie event happening as there usually aren't that many kids/babies on St Denis street. A word to the wise: When going to these kiddie shows, bring LOTS n LOTS of extra cash because even though you've psyched yourself up to NOT buy the trinkets, bad-silk-screened/bad quality t-shirts and other paraphenalia, you are out-numbered by all the whiny screaming kids whose parents have already succumbed. And once your kid sees others with the light-sabered crap, t-shirt and other stuff, THEY • WILL • WANT • THE • SAME • THING.

We spent the first 30 minutes before the show began trying to calm Keira down as she was crying that her nose was "stuffed". Argh. But once the show began, all was forgotten! Didn't matter that the background was minimal. The music was familiar and most importantly, the favourite characters were on stage! Live! And boy did everyone have fun including Keira who was bouncing and singing along. When the intermission hit, it took all my patience to keep repeating the same answer to her same question: Where Tyrone? Where Pablo? Where..."

And then the lights dimmed again and the show began and I must admit, it was great. We'll definately try this again.

Oh no, too soon!

Mont Tremblant with Stella and family

So we finally made it to Mont Tremblant to visit Stella, Andre and Alex. Finally! After many cancellations due to : weather, cold/flu, etc...And what a great weekend to be there! We thought it might be too cold to go to the mountain but after dressing accordingly, we had a great day.

Stella and I took the kids to the magic carpet area (where they have that tapis-roulant for kids learning how to ski) and Claude went off with Andre (who's a ski instructor there) to check out the new parabolic skis he rented. Lucky for Claude, he was able to get quite the personal ski lesson from Andre! Good times good times.

The kids had a blast on the magic carpet and Keira finally put on some skis. She was fine with Stella, even went down the hill but as soon as she saw me...WAH!!!!! GET THESE BOOTS OFF OF ME!!!!! WHAT WAS I THINKING????? Geez. Next time, will just let someone else take care of the lesson/ski bit for her. Drama-queen...

I didn't get much sleep that night as Keira, being wiped out from the day's activities snored just like her daddy! And louder...

Hope we go back soon! Next time, I'll try to make it on the slopes too.

I'm gonna wash that grey right outta my hair...

my bubbles my bubbles!

And when it's all over. At least she smells good after her bath.

Are your kids as into bubble baths as mine?? By the time we drag Keira out of the bathtub, the water is cold and the bubbles have faded yet there she is..fighting tooth and nail to save every last bubble going down the drain screaming "OH NO! MY BUBBLES!!! MY BUUUUUUUUUUBBBBBLES!!!!!!!"
